Frequently asked questions
What time is the Powerball drawing?+
The Powerball drawing takes place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time, in Tallahassee, Florida. Ticket sales cut-off times vary by state, usually 1 to 2 hours before the drawing. Official results are published right after the drawing and added here automatically.
How are the displayed results verified?+
Numbers are fetched automatically after every drawing from the official New York State Open Data feed and cross-checked. If in doubt, always check your ticket on powerball.com or with your state lottery.
What do “hot” and “overdue” mean?+
“Hot”: the number was among the 10 most frequently drawn white balls in the history before this drawing. “Overdue”: it had not appeared for longer than its usual average gap. These are statistical observations, not predictions.
Results are provided for information, imported automatically from the official New York State Open Data feed. Only the results published by powerball.com and your state lottery are authoritative. Powerball is a game of chance: statistics do not predict drawings. Prizes are subject to federal and state tax withholding.
